Last night we had the opening party at the Hilton Pool Side, it was electric! The paparazzi was insane!!! It felt lovely to be back home. It was good to see Kingsley Cooper after many years, as well as old acquaintances. Caribbean Fashion Week is truly a remarkable event. It is wonderful that beautiful people from the Caribbean region as well as from Africa and India are all coming together to celebrate fashion in Jamaica!
Last night I chatted with Nana Boateng from Ghana, such a cool guy, he works with lots of celebs in LA - do check him out.... will post photos later. But was really a cool event.
From today's fitting, Nell Robinson - Victoria Secret and Rimell Cosmetics model will open the show. I suppose I am a bit nervous about it. So will try to retire for a few minutes :)

JAMAICA!

What a lovely country. Maybe it is because I was born here.....
There is something so magical and special about Jamaica.
Today there was a warm rain that felt heavenly to walk in.
Mangoes are plentiful and my stomach about to burst, I have probably had a dozen of them.
Sugar Cane is sugar sweet and Juicy.
All I can think of is a deep sleep!
I did an interview on CVM television this morning about the Collection and started with fittings.
There were 2 girls who were ok but I definitely need to have another fitting and will do so tomorrow.
Also met up with Mutabaruka who is the Music Director for the event.
And now at almost 5 in the evening will go to bed.

First day Blogging for the private I

Today I begin this blog to share the journey that begins with my Collection - the Vessel. by lois.
The Collection consists of simply tailored, menswear inspired comfortable clothing for women.
I start packing for my trip to Jamaica today. There I present the Collection at the Caribbean Fashion Week.
Responses from NY, Japan and Germany have been very good so far.
(One Fabulous store in New York seems to be going through BIG changes - What will New York shoppers do without them???)
The economy has many afraid. But I have only to continue being optimistic!
And think global.
